THE ARRANGEMENT CONFERENCE

While not technically part of the actual funeral process, this meeting between you and the funeral director serves a s the foundation for creating a meaningful funeral, memorial or celebration of life.  During this conference we will gather important information about your family member and their life to help you create a wonderful tribute and farewell.  Information needed for Arrangements

                                      THE VISITATION

This is a time for your family and friends to support one another during grieving process.  Often the body is present in an open or unopened casket, though it does not have to be.  This allows those who loved your family member and the surviving family to acknowledge the reality of death and to have the privilege of saying goodbye.

               THE FUNERAL

This is the time when a clergy member, family member, friend or several friends, speak on the uniqueness of your loved one while allowing fellowship of friends.  It is also the time for the affirmation of the significance of your loved ones life and how they touched people.  Your family member will be present for the service in a casket.

     THE MEMORIAL SERVICE

Like the funeral this is the time to remember your family member.  The only difference between this and a funeral is that your loved one is not present or are present in an urn.

        CASKETS

From the ancient word Cache which means treasure chest it is any container which a deceased is placed in for burial.  They are predominately made of wood or metal.  With wood the prices depend on the specie of wood, the finish, and the interior.  With metal again it depends on the type of metal, interior, and finish.  Caskets can be made of gauged steel, stainless steel, copper or bronze.

             VAULT or OUTER BURIAL CONTAINER

A vault is a container constructed of concrete, composite materials, or metal.  It is to encase casket remains or cremains.  It is made when sealed properly to resist the entrance of outside elements.  A graveliner is a concrete box which is not made to seal.  We proudly offer WILBERT Vaults

     URN

A container which is for the holding of cremains.  They are made out of a plethora of different materials.  They can be customized in almost any way.  There are also biodegradable urns for families who opt for scattering of the cremains

    URN VAULT

If you plan on ground burial for the urn, many cemeteries may require it be placed in an urn vault. Lined urn vaults provide varying levels of protection against subsoil elements and weight of the earth.

A lined urn vault is made of high-strength concrete and reinforced with durable plastic or a combination of durable plastic and metal (copper, bronze, or stainless steel).

Leading funeral professionals throughout North America recommend Wilbert lined urn vaults for superior protection and lasting peace of mind.

Your funeral director can help you select a lined urn vault that suits your style and budget.

Like a traditional vault it serves the same purpose except it is for an urn.

                           EMBALMING

It is an ancient process which can be traced back to the Egyptians.  Though it is very different in today's modern times it still serves the same purpose.  It is for the temporary preservation and disinfection of a decedent.

                          CREMATION

Through a process of intense flame, heat, and vaporization it reduces a decedent to a thin, brittle skeletal remains which are take from the retort and placed in to a pulverize which further reduces them to smaller particles known as cremains.

                       THE DISPOSITION

The choices for this are traditional earth burial, mausoleum entombment, or cremation.  The disposition is the choice for the final resting place of your family member.  It’s not a funeral or cremation, it’s burial or cremation.  The funeral or memorial service is where you say Farwell.  With cremation all the other important encompassing rituals of the funeral or humanistic service are utilized with the final disposition to follow.

Earth Burial - This is where the casket with your loved is received into the ground.

                  Mausoleum Entombment

The casket with your loved one is received into an above ground holding chamber.  These can be constructed of brick, marble, granite, or other materials.  They can be individual, family, or communal in nature.

                                 Cremation

Cremation is the process of reducing the body to ashes through a process of intense flame.  The skeletal structure which remains after the cremation is placed into a processor and tuned into smaller fragments.  These cremains can then be scattered, buried, or retained.

                                                            Minimum Alternative Container

Rigid container made of combustible material which the deceased is encased to assist in the deceased to be received into the retort
